Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is an action-adventure game developed by Respawn Entertainment and published by Electronic Arts. It was released for PS5, Windows, and Xbox Series X|S on April 28, 2023. A database entry (via) for a title update on PlayStation servers appears to have confirmed the first game that will be added to the PS Plus Premium Classics catalog for February, 2025. The title in question is none other than Sony Interactive Entertainment and Pyramid/Japan Studio’s rhythm game, Patapon 3.

Remastered versions of both Patapon and Patapon 2 are already available on the PlayStation Store and also via the PS Plus Premium Classics catalog. It now appears that the third entry will also be joining them later this month. The PlayStation Plus Extra game catalog and Premium Classics catalog lineup for February, 2025, should be announced this Wednesday at 8:30 AM PT / 11:30 AM ET.

For the uninitiated, Patapon 3 was originally released in April, 2011, for the PlayStation Portable. It is the final entry in the Patapon series. While the core gameplay remains similar to its predecessors, this installment places a stronger emphasis on multiplayer features. The game maintains its signature 2D, silhouetted art style, originally created by French artist Rolito, but now features more detailed backgrounds. The story picks up immediately after the events of Patapon 2. Having completed the Rainbow Bridge, the Patapons cross into a new land where they encounter a mysterious box. Ignoring Meden’s warnings, they open it, unwittingly releasing the Seven Evil Archfiends, who turn nearly all the Patapons to stone, leaving only Hatapon untouched.

A new enemy tribe, the Bonedeth Brigade, rises to challenge the Patapons, while the Akumapons from the previous game also return as foes. However, all hope is not lost, as the Silver Hoshipon emerges from the box as well, offering assistance. It finds the Almighty and revives a single Patapon: the Hero. Merging with the Almighty’s power, the Hero transforms into the Uberhero, gaining enhanced abilities.

According to the announcement, PlayStation Plus will focus on delivering PS5 titles through its Monthly Games and Game Catalog benefits beginning in 2026. While PS4 games will no longer be a key part of the service, Sony clarified that they may still be occasionally included in the offerings. Additionally, titles playable on both PS4 and PS5 consoles could still be made available after the transition.

Sony reassured players that this change will not affect PS4 games already redeemed through PlayStation Plus. Members will retain access to these games as long as their subscription remains active. For the Game Catalog, PS4 titles will continue to be accessible until they are rotated out as part of the service’s monthly refresh cycle.

Despite recent changes, Sony assures PS Plus subscribers that the service will continue to offer exclusive discounts, online multiplayer access, cloud storage for game saves, and other benefits. As the focus shifts to the PS5, players can expect a regular influx of new PS5 titles added to the Monthly Games and Game Catalog each month.

Sony also provided an update on next month’s PS Plus lineup. The upcoming games include Payday 3, Pac-Man World Re-Pac, and High on Life. Among these, two titles will be available on the PS4, while Payday 3 is a PS5 exclusive. However, this trend is expected to change starting in 2026 and beyond.
