According to a thread on Reddit, the discount seems to apply to only a select group of users, and there is no way to determine if you are eligible other than checking it yourself.

For those unaware, Sony has offered a discount for the PS Plus subscription during Black Friday: 30% off Premium, 25% off Extra, and 20% off Essential. However, this discount is limited and not available to everyone.

I am one of the unlucky users who cannot see any discount when I try to extend my subscription. This was also the case for me last year. Meanwhile, some lucky users can extend their subscription with the offered discount, ranging from 30% to 20%, depending on their tier level.

However, I was able to see a discount when upgrading to a different tier. In my case, I am on PS Plus Extra, and I could see the option to upgrade to PS Plus Premium with a 30% discount. While this is nice, I would have preferred a full discount on extending the subscription for another month.

Fortunately, there is a way to check if you are eligible. According to some users who received the offer to extend their subscription, they had to turn on the auto-renew option to get the discount applied. I tried to turn off auto-renew, but it was too late for me, as I never managed to get the discounted offer.

For those confused about how to disable auto-renew, cancelling the subscription essentially does the same thing, just with different wording. Your subscription will continue to work, but it won’t be renewed automatically when it expires.

Billbil-kun is a well-known leaker with a proven track record for leaking information about PS Plus and Xbox Game Pass. According to a recent leak, the first game that will be launching on PS Plus Essential in March 2024 is Sifu. This game will be available to claim and play on the service from March 5th. However, the remaining games that will be available on the service have not been confirmed yet.

If the character reaches old age, they can die permanently, and players must replay the level from the beginning, maintaining the age they were when they first played.

The game was initially released on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC in February 2022. Later, it was launched for the Nintendo Switch in November 2022 and for Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S in March 2023. As of February 2024, the game had sold more than 3 million copies.

The survey for PS Stars lists some of the games that are eligible for the rewards campaign and among them, Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin stands out because it is not available on PS Plus Extra.

PS Stars is a promotional campaign by Sony that offers rewards for those who perform specific tasks, like playing a game, getting a platinum trophy, buying something from the PlayStation Store, and so on.
